Godparents are Catholics who have received their Sacraments of Initiation and live according to God's law who can inspire, support, and lead the child as they grow in the faith. Sponsors also testify to the Church, stating that they will pray for the child and assist the parents in raising the child in the faith. In order to prove that you can be a godparent, you have to get a form signed by a Catholic priest, ensuring that you meet all of the requirements. Each child is permitted up to two godparents (one male, one female), but they are only required to have one. They cannot be a parent of the child they are sponsoring. You can find the godparent form below or on the main baptism page! If you want to know more about the role of a godparent, check the link under the form!
