In keeping with the traditions of our faith, our program prioritizes the liturgy and communal prayer. With that in mind, our younger grades have class lined up in between Sunday Masses, and our older grades join the parish for Adoration, Vespers, and Benediction on Wednesdays. Many of our catechists have professional teaching experience and/or multiple years of parish formation experience. The materials we use to teach have the imprimatur of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (when applicable per age group), and they were developed utilizing the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Additionally, every student in a religious education program in the United States receives a yearly lesson on personal safety through the Circle of Grace curriculum. This is part of the Catholic Church in America's Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. This curriculum emphasizes God's protective role in our lives and how safety honors the dignity and worth of the human person. It also helps kids identify resources to get help in unsafe situations.
