Confirmation seals you with the Holy Spirit, giving you strength to spread the Gospel, live the faith, and serve others. Confirmation, in the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church, completes our Sacraments of Initiation, which also means that our relationship with the Church is made stronger after getting confirmed. Getting confirmed opens the doors for you to be a godparent or sponsor one day, for you to become ordained or consecrated in religious life, and for you to hold certain teaching positions or ministries within the Church!
In the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, teens are confirmed once they turn 16 years old. For us, this means that preparation takes place throughout the teen's sophomore (10th grade) year of school, and they are confirmed right away in September of their junior year (11th grade). Our preparation is a sponsor-centered approach. For more information, contact our Director of Religious Education!
