Though most of us don't get a chance to ever be a detective, you can certainly use your detective skills to assist us with our cemetery records. As an office that runs four of the most historic cemeteries in Kenosha, we have well over one hundred years' worth of burial records, grave purchasing, and documents that are being maintained and organized. Record-keeping looked different a century ago than it does now, but in an effort to have everyone in our cemeteries known, prayed for, and in our mapping system, we have volunteers go out to the cemeteries to record what they find. We take the findings and input it into our computer system and make corrections. This role is perfect for anyone who likes problem solving, quiet/independent volunteering, and extremely flexible volunteering times (you go when you want!). If you're interested in this self-paced volunteer opportunity, contact our office so that we can get you trained! Service hours are available for any youth who participate!
